Vivien Hart was born in New Zealand and currently resides in coastal Northern NSW. She attended Canterbury School of Fine Art in Christchurch, NZ and the South Australian School of Fine Art, Stanley St, South Australia. Vivien is an Illustrator, Screen Printer and Painter, enjoying exploring the natural environment in the coastal town where she lives.
Vivien has exhibited at various galleries around northern NSW and New Zealand. Working mainly in oil on canvas, her areas of interest include the natural world and the built environment, light and shadow.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am particularly interested in the depiction of landscape and buildings as they reveal aspects of the lives of those who use and occupy them and the times in which we live.
I am particularly interested in light and shadow and how it both creates and conceals form. I have attempted to draw these threads together in in various ways in these works.
