I'm always on the lookout for lone trees and they prove to be particularly hard to find!. I had been travelling for 3 months when I came across this scene, I knew I had to photograph it so I set up camp and waited for the sunset, to my disappointment I was greeted with a dull grey sky with no nice colours... so the wait continued. The next night I set up again, fingers crossed that nature would put on a show. As the sun dipped low the sky filled with colour, I frantcally re-positioned the camera trying angle after angle to make the most of the colours. Finally I decided on this composition and shot 2 frames by which time the sunset was a past memory and I was left standing alone, fingers crossed that I hadn't made any mistakes!"
