The older men are waiting beside the stone fishtrap armed with pronged fishing spears. On lowtide special leaves are crushed and placed amongst the rocks, the incoming tide then spreads the sap through the water. The fish will always swim away from the sap into the cleaner water of the fishtrap. The younger boys on the opposite side of the creek help out by tapping the water with sticks. This is in the season of the Ti-Tree flower.
