Ancient ice, so compressed it shifts in colour from white, to blue, to jade. Up close, it seems to glow from within. This ice most likely was formed on the Antarctic Peninsula, calved into the Weddell Sea and was carried north to collect on the southern side of the South Orkney Islands.
