Satchmo's raspy singing voice and stage personality matched his flashy trumpet. He played in brass bands, on riverboats, and recorded many hits like"What a Wonderful World", "When the Saints go Marchin' In" and "Hello Dolly"at 63. Pops was a generous man, a quiet activist and always signed his letters "Red Beans and Ricely yours".
