Roarrr

This painting originated during a series of lion studies done in Perth 2003. This is one of the few paintings I have painted more then once. Each time I use a different approach, and a different outcome is obtained. I am amazed by the way this painting almost seems to paint itself. When I paint this piece, it feels like I am getting in touch with the lions overwhelming inner strength. Jokingly I sometimes call this a self-portrait.
