The background painting represents the landscape, the age old rock formations that make up the Dreamtime stories. The spaces in the paint resemble the vertical striations of the weathered outcrops, and the horizontal layers of colour represent the layering of the earth over millions of years. The grass tree print is a survival print, the grass tree has survived from the dinosaur times and represents the survival of the Aboriginal people from the Dreamtime to the present.
