I'm constantly faced with the challange of finding calm still waters in order to produce clear reflection, finding such waters is hard at the best of times and usually limited to the odd sunrise. On this occasion I had driven up the coast for the afternoon in search of a beautiful lake image. Around an hour before sunset I found this composition and knew it had to be photographed, I knew I needed calm water for it to work but was not hopeful. Fingers crossed I set up and waited. As the sun fell behind the horizon the entire scene illuminated in a warm glow. The wind had settled and the waters calmed, I waited for a moment when there were no passing boats creating wash and managed to shoot 2 frames before I stood alone in darkness.
