Byron Tik
I love painting, it is my passion. I was born in Perth and raised in Holland and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts In The Hague. Drawn to Byron Bay because of its name and fell in love with the creative magic of the place. Since April 2004 I have been running my studio and the Arts Factory Village gallery in Byron Bay
Since then I have painted over 200 paintings, been running exhibitions, selling paintings and prints internationally, teaching life drawing and painting classes, organising workshops, exhibitions for other artists, partaking in art activities, organized the Byron Bay ARTS FEST, a festival-fundraiser’, painted life at the several music events, and held a dance paint performance at the 'Splendour in the Grass' festival in July.
I am inspired by artists, dancers and musicians, working together with these different disciplines creates the narrative of my work.
Born in Perth WA. Byron grew up in Holland where he attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. Byron has developed a symbiotic relationship between fine art, technology and popular culture through his work as a creative Director in the Digital Games industry and as a practising Artist. Attracted to the area because of his names sake, Byron is now embedded in the local arts community.
