James McMillan Bio
About James:
James McMillan competed professionally on the Quiksilver surf and snowboard tour between 1995 and 2000 and was ranked in the top ten internationally. This is where he developed his style of photography and art, among the mountains and in the sea. James retired from competing after 2000 and now splits his time between surfing and pursuing his artistic passions of photography, painting and writing and professional surf coaching. James contributes his writing, photography and artwork to magazines and clothing companies all over the world. To his credit James has, authored his best selling book, Blue Yonder, a journey into the heart of surf culture, of which he was also the senior photographer and art director. He has art directed The Blue Yonder short film, and has participated, with photography and paintings in the group art exhibition ‘Surf Style’, in Los Angeles and New York. James has been included in numerous group art shows with his photography and painting, in Sydney and Byron Bay, with each areas leading contemporary artists.
