Kate Belle Bio
Kate Belle was formally trained at UTS in Sydney, and worked first as a photographic assistant and then commercial photographer in Sydney from early 2000 before moving to Byron Bay in 2004.
Kate has worked professionally as a photographer in Byron Bay and Sydney since then specialising in portraiture, fashion and weddings.
She is commissioned annually to shoot for the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival and just completed work on a cookbook for Gaia retreat and Spa.
“In my work I am continually striving to capture that definitive moment in time where a shift of light, a tilt of the head, a change in expression, an altered perspective, a collision of people and places will work together to transform a interesting moment into something of great and rare beauty.
I find my creative process very organic and while good planning and organization are crucial for a successful shoot I often find that the images I really fall in love are the ones that I didn’t see coming. The ones that come about when the conscious mind is shut off and the unexpected occurs in the relationship between the subject and the photographer.”
Kate’s latest project is an exhibition centred around the many facets of woman planned for showing in Atlanta and New York in 2007.
