Kirra Pendergast Bio
Born and raised in Byron Bay, Australia's most easterly point famous for its pristine beaches, lush rainforests and colorful community.
Kirra has spent the last 13 years working for a diverse range of companies in the Information Technology Sector across Australia, most recently as a Business Development Manager for Avanade, a joint venture of Accenture and Microsoft in Brisbane and currently for Hyro an Online Digital Business and Creative Solutions company. Kirra is also the Director of 1% For The Planet in the South Pacific region and environmental philanthropic organization that encourages businesses to give back to the environment. http://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org
It's relatively easy to list the milestones in a persons life; it's much more difficult to gain an understanding of the person themselves. Kirra is the mother of a 9 year old boy and she recently moved back to Byron Bay to give him the opportunity to grow up in a socially and environmentally aware community, close to family, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
Kirra's parents are passionate water people who combined have over 100 years of experience in all areas of water sports and ocean conservation and awareness initiatives. This awareness and appreciation of the environment and its protection has been instilled in Kirra and her son, siblings, and their families.
A passionate photographer on most weekends you will find her photographing the spectacular landscapes, flora and fascinating people in Byron Bay and its surrounds.
