I started my career in Adelaide as a commercial artist/graphic designer, when illustration was an important part of the process. Always interested in the human form, I concentrated on fashion and costume drawing and life drawing.
Since then I have raised a family, worked in television, advertising, and until recently co owned an advertising agency with my husband. I have found a creative and artistic energy in Byron Bay, where I now live and have returned to my original muse – life drawing.
My inspiration and passion comes from the body, that sensuous part of the natural flow of life, where shadows and highlights co-exist with the highs and lows of emotion. For me, observing the human form brings out the beauty and colour of life.
Painting is an area of my life where I find pushing the edge and going beyond the mundane is in itself an inspiration. It defines me, my essence. And it lets me experience a full range of emotions, producing art that explores the human condition and through it, touch others.
I have started exhibiting my work recently, at XO Gallery, Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah Regional Gallery.
