Description: I have sometimes used the thematic subject of Falling Angels as a reference to certain cultural and environmental crises.
However it also links to well known artworks from Milton's epic poem, Paradise Lost, through to Kevin Smith's comic/ satire movie, Dogma. The theme of Falling Angels becomes a kind of metaphor for renewal and redress when one looks at it ironically. The motif was suggested to me by my grand-daughter's preoccupation with little statuettes of angels, in the garden. She tended to knock them over and stand them up again, sometimes breaking little pieces off of them.
